Aramenko Chiropractic – Why I practice chiropractic:
My path towards chiropractic is actually a very personal one.
When I was in my twenties, I injured my lower back while playing golf. I went to my family doctor who couldn’t find anything wrong even after looking at X-rays. For whatever reason he just didn’t seem to know what was wrong with my back.
He sent me to a physiotherapist who treated me for one year. Unfortunately, my problem was never resolved, so I went back to my family doctor. This time he sent me to an orthapedic surgeon for a consultation and a CT scan. The surgeon said I had two choices, I could grin and bear the pain, or he could go in and do an exploratory operation to see what the trouble was. He said nothing showed up on the CT scan either. I didn’t want anything to do with surgery, so finally my mother recommended that I go see her chiropractor.
At the chiropractor’s office I was given a thorough exam, and the doctor explained very clearly what my problem was. I started a treatment program and after two months my pain was completely gone and I was feeling great. I continued to go for regular check-ups and maintenance treatment for several years. This experience was inspiring for me. And, I was so interested to learn more about chiropractic that eventually I enrolled into the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. As they say, the rest is history!
Here’s a bit more about my story:
